- 78% get their news headlines from television news and only 4% don't care about the news
- 52% get their entertainment news from the television and 15% aren't interested in it
- 56% collect music from iTunes (paid music) while 4% collect old records
- 69% collect movies by buying DVD's from shops while 12% copy them from other people
- 73% notice TV commercials the most over 8% for sign-writing on cars or buildings
- 100% use Google for finding answers
- 70% use YouTube for entertainment while only 6% upload their own videos to the site
- 50% use their computer for gaming while only 2% use a Play Station Portable (PSP)
- 90% communicate with friends/family via mobile phones while 4% use personal blogs
- 44% use the internet for communication, 30% for entertainment and 26% for information.

Survey Results
During the period 30/8/11 to 4/9/11 I undertook a survey about how people receive media. I used a website called Survey Monkey with the basic (free) package and asked 10 questions which are shown below. I posted the survey link to my Facebook page, 2 uni pages on Facebook and sent the link via email to others I know who are not on Facebook. A total of 50 people responded. In summary, of the 50 people surveyed, this is the outcome:
